When a routine maintenance triggers hardware problems, you are faced with a dilemma: restore the old alumni website, way too old be allowed back online, and put online the new one that is being worked on but it is not ready yet.
The logical choice is to whip together a new one for the fronted part, and to restore later on the members areas.
Who knows, maybe this temporary website will stay, like the Pavillon/Computer Center...
